There might be a brand new Local Historic Landmark in Beverly Hills — but it is the mansion which is already in tourist’s “must see” list.
Taylor Swift bought her home in 2015 for $25 million. She has asked the city of Beverly Hills to designate her home, as a local landmark. The mansion is known as the Samuel Goldwyn Estate, and it was built in 1934 by the famous filmmaker Samuel Goldwyn Sr.
See the entire mansion:
The six-bedroom, five-bathroom estate was designed by architect Douglas Honnold, and includes swanky features like a card room, theater, library and servants’ quarters above the garage.
Goldwyn’s son, Samuel Goldwyn Jr., inherited the house after his father’s death in 1974, and after his death in 2015, Swift purchased it.
Meetings were held by the five-member Cultural Heritage Commission to discuss the designation today — no word yet on the outcome.
We have a feeling, however, that the house will remain in the Hollywood history books for many years to come. Not only does it have rich historic value, but it also houses one of the world’s most successful pop stars and entrepreneurs. Let’s be honest: That’s pretty landmark-worthy.
